HEAD COACHES

Lloyd Larsen 
Head Coach & Program Director
National Team Lead Coach, Senior Group Lead Coach
 
Lloyd has been coaching for 35 years. This is his 23rd year (45th season) with Foxjets. Lloyd is an ASCA Certified Level 5 Senior Coach and Level 5 Age Group Coach. He has coached swimmers from the youngest levels through Junior Nationals, US Open, US Nationals and US Olympic Trial qualifiers. Most recently, one of his swimmers made the 2023 USA World Junior Championship Team, as well as twice being named to the USA Swimming National Junior Team. Lloyd has coached over 100 Nationally-Ranked swimmers (Top 10 or Top 16), including several National Age Group #1 Rankings and National Age Group Record Holders from both Minnesota and Iowa LSC's. USA Swimming selected him as an assistant coach for the elite Central Zone Select Camp. Active in the coaching profession, he has also been a featured speaker at the ASCA World Coaches Clinic and a mentor coach in the ASCA Coach Mentors program.  Lloyd was an accomplished athlete with many years of swimming with AAU, Edina High School, St. Olaf College and post-collegiate swimming in the military. At St. Olaf, he was an MIAC Conference Champion, NCAA Division III National Qualifier and Co-Captain.
 
Lloyd believes that developing life skills and fostering personal growth are the key roles of youth athletics.  He leads our team with our Core Values of Integrity, Family, Attitude, and Ambition.  Lloyd's primary coaching duties are with the National Team, while also serving as the team's administrator and program director.
 
Travis Anderson 
Head Age Group Coach
Silver 2 Lead Coach
 
Travis Anderson is an ASCA Certified Level 5 Age Group Coach with nearly 20 years of experience in competitive swimming. Most recently working as an Assistant Coach with Foxjets, Travis has previously served as Head Novice Coach and Head Age Group Coach at Edina Swim Club, Head Age Group & Senior Coach at Phoenix Swim Club, Head Coach of the NDP High School program, and Lead Age Group & Senior Coach for Scottsdale Aquatic Club. He is highly regarded for his enthusiasm and dedication to developing swimmers at all levels, from novice to senior. 
 
Coach Travis has developed swimmers of all abilities, from state to national level qualification. Coach Travis has led swimmers to championships at the Regional, State and Zone level, breaking State and National Age Group records, achieving USAS All-Time Top 100 and Top 20 rankings, achieving High School State Championships and All-American Automatic and Consideration times, and also setting US Masters Swimming (USMS) State and National records

Travis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Philosophy from Arizona State University, and additionally holds a range of fitness and nutrition certifications including NASM CPT, CES, FMS1 and PN1. His coaching philosophy emphasizes fun, competitive excellence and the holistic development of his athletes. When he's not coaching, Travis enjoys staying active through swimming and strength training and spending time with his daughter Sawyer (6), and dog Maya.
 
Brian Nagel 
Head Development Coach
Red 1, Red 2 and Age Group Prep Lead Coach
 
This is Brian's 12th year (23rd season) with Foxjets Swim Team. He brings 20+ years of coaching experience in Minnesota swimming. He was also the Bloomington Jefferson High School Girls assistant coach for two years. Before beginning his coaching career in 1998, Brian swam competitively for 15 years with the Richfield Swim Club, Barracuda Aquatics Club, and the Bloomington Kennedy High School for four years.  He was also a member of the Team Minnesota Zone coaching staff in 2007.  Brian believes that perfecting technique and individual effort, coupled with team support, will give the swimmer a long successful swimming career.

LEAD COACHES

Matt Koken 
Silver 1 and Red 3

Coach Matt joined the Foxjets Swim Team staff in the Fall of 2017 and is now entering his 17th season with the team. A Woodbury native, he swam for East Ridge High School and the South East Metro Sharks. Specializing in butterfly, Matt earned individual state titles, held a state record, and twice placed in the top four at the Minnesota High School State Championships. He continued his swimming career at the University of North Dakota, where he was a four-year Division I letter winner and earned his degree in Marketing.

Since joining Foxjets, Matt has coached athletes at every level of the age group program, from developing swimmers to state champions. His athletes have achieved team records, Zone championships, and most recently a second-place team finish at the 10&U State Meet.

Matt currently lives in Richfield with his dog, Atlas, while working at Boston Scientific. His favorite part of coaching is the opportunity to give back to the sport that has given him so much, and he especially enjoys helping swimmers realize their full potential.

Catie Chang 
National Age Group, Age Group Gold
Coach Catie enters her 2nd season with Foxjets this year, after many years of senior coaching in Minnesota.  Catie was also a Foxjet as a youth swimmer (state champion), and went on to have a great career swimming for UConn all four years.
 
Cheryl Hensley
Co-Lead Bronze Groups
Cheryl begins her journey with Foxjets this year as Lead Coach for Age Group Gold and Senior.  She comes to us with 10+ years of coaching experience from Lubbock, Texas where she coached the Lubbock Swim Team at many levels.
 
RJ Greseth 
Co-Lead Bronze Groups
Coach RJ brings patience, top tier teaching skills, and over 30 years of coaching experience. Coach Greseth started his coaching career in 1988 with West Express. He went on to be the head coach of two teams, Hutchinson High Tides and Peoria Area Water Wizards. RJ believes in fundamentals, commitment, and excellence.
 
Dave Cameron  
Masters
Coach Dave has been coaching and growing Masters swimming in Minnesota for 24 years. Dave swam for Carleton College, where he was a 15-time all-conference swimmer in distance freestyle events. For 15 years, he led Minnesota Tri Masters, a tri-specific training group in St Louis Park, which is also where he gained the confidence in open-water swimming to do his first English Channel solo swim in 2004. Since then, he's done another Channel solo, multiple relays, and coached many other channel swimmers, including his son's team "The Shrieking Eels" in 2021.
 
Dave is the Coaching Director for Total Immersion worldwide, has been coaching and managing at YWCA Minneapolis for over 20 years, and coached one swimmer to the 2016 and 2020 Paralympic finals. Dave's practice thought is that if you don't know the point of what you're doing in practice, there may not be one.
